Hey y'all! I'm Leslie! A southern girl at heart who loves to travel!  I am a mom to two teen boys and my seniors girl clients are my chance to get some girl time in!  I love taking photos and documenting my clients' stories!  Check out this blog for fun info, sessions and so much more!

tandem1 As you know, I photograph seniors and I post the sessions here on this blog. But in addition to photographing teens, I love to go on adventures and find new places. Sometimes those new places are far away, like when I am traveling for my photography job, teaching other photographers. But sometimes those fabulous finds are right in my backyard! My friend Jennifer of Carolina Girl Cooks, a fabulous blog in which Jennifer showcases her culinary talent and inspires readers to whip up yummy southern food, and I discovered that we each have an interest in adventure especially of the food kind! 🙂 We love finding unique places, restaurants, shops, etc and Greenville and the surrounding areas have some fabulous spots that we are dying to visit and then share with our readers. So we are both sharing the places we visit on each of our blogs, one place – two different views on that place. We invite you to visit both this blog and Carolina Girl Cooks on Sundays to learn all about the fun places we visit. tandem2 tandem3 I have lived in Greenville for 8 years now, and every day I learn about a new restaurant or store in the area. Greenville is the major city but there are neighborhoods or surrounding areas that have their own unique feel. Travelers Rest, or as locals call it TR, is a small town just north of Greenville. My family and I visit TR often in the fall as it is home to several of the boys football games. On one such football game, we passed by this super cute restaurant called Tandem located right across the street from the football field. While the boys were warming up, I scooted over there to check it out. The line was long (great sign!) and I only had a few minutes so I was unable to try it out that day. So I quickly called my friend Jennifer to tell her about it. We immediately set a date to go together and truly check it out. Tandem, located right on Main Street which also happens to follow along the Swamp Rabbit Bike Trail, is a brick building decorated with sunny yellow accents. Their motto “Together is Best” is an indication that this restaurant, its atmosphere and its food are meant to be shared. tandem4 tandem5 tandem6 Jennifer and I couldn’t wait to enjoy the crepes which is the main thing on Tandem’s menu. Fine by me as my favorite restaurant growing up was a crepe restaurant that my parents used to take me to in Atlanta called The Magic Pan. In addition to crepes, there unique coffee and tea creations to enjoy along with the crepes. From savory to sweet, there is a crepe to fit everyone’s tastes. I ordered the Fiesta Crepe which was full of chicken, black beans, cheese and a yummy sour cream sauce on top. These crepes are HUGE and definitely enough to share. So I boxed up the second half and brought it home to the hubs! But of course one crepe wasn’t quite enough and Jennifer and I just had to try the Banana Nut Crepe which was filled with my all time favorite ingredient…NUTELLA! Sliced bananas, pecans and Nutella, need I

more? It was delicious! Everything about Tandem is worth the drive or bike to TR. The perfect fall day could be spent biking the Swamp Rabbit Trail, stopping for lunch at Tandem and then returning to Greenville. A little of France right in the middle of the south! So plan your trip to the area and make sure to stop at this fabulous find in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. And be sure to read Jennifer’s take on Tandem over on her website, www.carolinagirlcooks.com. Welcome to my South! Tandem Creperie and Coffeehouse 2 Main Street Travelers Rest, SC www.tandemcc.com
