Caitlyn is a super sweet girl who not only is serving as one of my Class of 2015 Senior Spokesmodels but also helps me out anytime I need cheerleading advice! 🙂 Since I have been helping out with the cheerleaders for my son’s football game, I needed a refresher course on cheers! It’s been a while since I wore that uniform! Ha! Caitlyn was happy to help out and I am so glad she did! Caitlyn is a senior at Eastside and loves to cheer for the Eagles! She has been such a great model and I can’t wait to continue working with her this year on many more shoots!
What are you most looking forward to in your senior year?
I am very excited to start finalizing everything for college during my senior year. Yes, I am thrilled for Friday night football games, cheer competitions, spirit week, prom and graduation. But I am also ready to begin the next milestone in my life. Filling out applications for colleges and scholarships will be somewhat stressful, but it will also be very rewarding in the end when a big dream becomes reality. I am ecstatic to see where my senior year takes me because the opportunities are endless!
Who is your favorite band?
My favorite band is Kings of Leon, but I listen to everything. From rock to country or from indie to oldies, I love it all!! Music has always been a very important part of my life because it allows me to express myself and connect with others who like the same music I do. Music is always present in my everyday schedule and I wouldn’t know what to do without it. I wear band tees all the time and love finding a new artist to jam out to.
What is your favorite quote and why?
My favorite quote is by Kurt Cobain, which is “I’d rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not.” I could not agree more! In today’s society, people change who they truly are just to be accepted by others. That kind of acceptance from others is not genuine or truthful, so why be liked for something you are not? It means nothing if you are not being you! If people do not like you, so be it. I believe that it is important to be yourself no matter what! What is your favorite hobby? Right now a hobby of mine would be painting. It is a really good way to let go of stress and express yourself. I also love listening to records and music in general so I visit Horizon records every now and then to see what new albums they have.
What is your favorite food?
I am a vegetarian so I would say that a veggie burger from Carolina Ale House is my favorite food, but you could also never go wrong with cheesecake or key lime pie! I love Taco Bell’s cheese quesadilla as well!
What is your favorite memory from high school so far?
My favorite memory from high school so far would be when my team and I placed 5th at the state competition for cheerleading. We worked so hard to get to that point and it all paid off in the end. I love being involved in school activities such as pep rallies and football/basketball games. I have met so many great people and have made unforgettable memories. Being able to share my love for Eastside every year at different events is a huge honor and being part of a team with so much potential is a blessing. It gets really tough at times, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I am so thankful for everything that has happened during my high school career. Everything that has taken place thus far has helped prepare me for the real world and the future. High school has taught me many things that I will keep for the rest of my life.
What are your hopes or plans for the future?
My hopes for the future are to attend Anderson University as a legacy in the fall of 2015 and pursue my dreams of becoming a nutritionist, athletic trainer, psychologist or pediatric nurse. I have not decide which profession will be just right for me yet, but I do know that I want to help others in whatever I do. Whether its by teaching about healthy diets and exercise or by listening and giving advice. God has bigger
plans for me than I can even imagine and I know He will guide me to the right career. At some point in the future, I plan to travel to Spain and Ireland for the scenic beauty each are known for.
I also see mission work in my future. Teaching others about God is what we were made to do so I plan on fulfilling that job. I am excited and nervous for all the upcoming events in my life, but I have so many people supporting me in whatever I do and that in itself is something to be thankful for.
